"As I kiss your
hand
My heart is unsure
Yet I dare to hope
So I court you
As we walk hand in hand
You turn my heart round
Then I turn to you
And kiss you
As we stand, clasping hands
So you hold my heart
And I love you
Forever, I love you"

Coolattin Poets Society
for Royal Claddagh
|
A unique collection of new Claddagh poetry specially commissioned by Royal Claddagh, Ireland, to celebrate the Royal Claddagh ring and its centuries of tradition in words and song. The Coolattin Poets Society was created to produce a new kind of verse. Following in the original Celtic traditions of the spoken word, these poets have created poetry that is alive, poetry that speaks directly to the listener. These verses are written in Coolattin, have all been recorded in the local village of Shillelagh, and are recited by the authors themselves. The resulting poetry is lyrical and recorded with haunting Celtic background music.
